O-Eight has been a busy year so far and there is much to report. The illustration class I taught at RISD this January and February was a terrific experience and I enjoyed being back in Providence for a few weeks. Thanks again to Nick Jainschigg for inviting me and thank you to the lovely and talented Wesley Allsbrook for kindly sharing her apartment. Upon my return to California, I was given my first job for the New Yorker - an illustration of the rock band Bell X1. It's up in the commercial section along with new work for the Times Book Review and PlanSponsor (seen here). I've also added a new personal image. And finally, I recently found out that pieces of mine were selected for this year's Communication Arts Illustration Annual as well as this year's American Illustration book. Thanks so much to one of my favorite art directors, Kory Kennedy, for helping out with the later!
